Word Quest - Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how KENSTACK COMPANY LIMITED ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Word Quest (the "App"). This policy is provided in compliance with the Google Play Developer Program Policies and similar expectations on other platforms where the App is distributed.

1. Age Restriction — Not Directed at Children

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions such as the EU/EEA where a higher age of digital consent applies). By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App in violation of this restriction, please contact us using the details in Section 14.

2. Summary of Data Practices (High Level)

AreaWhat happens
AccountWe do not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number through the App for registration purposes.
Analytics & crashes (release builds)In release builds, we use Google Firebase Analytics (usage signals such as app opens) and Firebase Crashlytics (crash and error diagnostics). Collection is disabled in debug/development builds in our current configuration.
Remote configurationWe use Firebase Remote Config to deliver settings such as maintenance mode, minimum/recommended app versions, and terms-update prompts. This involves network requests to Google/Firebase.
Local storageGame progress, preferences, and related flags are stored on your device using SharedPreferences (and equivalent platform storage). We do not operate a game backend that stores your save file on our servers.
Images & fontsTheme backgrounds may load from third-party image hosts (see Section 5). Fonts may use Google Fonts when runtime font fetching is allowed (see Section 6).
External linksOpening links (for example to this Policy, the Terms, or an app store) uses your system browser or store app; we do not control those services' privacy practices.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the App to collect precise location, contacts, photos, or messages.

3. Information Processed Through Firebase (Google)

When Firebase initializes successfully and you use a release build of the App:

3.1 Firebase Analytics

  • Purpose: Understand aggregate usage (for example, app opens and, if we add them later, other events such as screen views).
  • Typical data categories: As implemented by Google's SDKs, this can include app instance identifiers, device and OS information, and usage/event data. See Google's documentation for details.
  • Debug builds: In our code, analytics collection is turned off when the App runs in debug mode.

3.2 Firebase Crashlytics

  • Purpose: Diagnose crashes and stability issues.
  • Typical data categories: Crash logs, stack traces, and related diagnostic context as described by Google for Crashlytics.

3.3 Firebase Remote Config

  • Purpose: Control optional or required updates, maintenance messaging, and coordinated updates to terms acceptance version flags without shipping a new binary for every change.
  • Typical data categories: Configuration payloads; Firebase may process identifiers and technical data as part of delivering the service.

Controller / processor: Google processes data on our behalf under Firebase's terms. Google's handling is described in Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase-related disclosures.

4. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores information only on your device, including but not limited to:

  • Game state (for example progress, virtual currency such as gold and diamonds, hints, and related gameplay data).
  • Sound and UI preferences.
  • Flags such as whether you accepted this Privacy Policy and which terms version you acknowledged (for Remote Config–driven prompts).

This local data:

  • Is not transmitted to our own servers as part of normal gameplay save synchronization (we do not operate such a backend in the App as currently shipped).
  • May be included in platform backup (for example Android backup or iCloud behavior), which is governed by your device and OS vendor policies.

Deletion: You can remove local App data by uninstalling the App or using your device settings to clear storage for Word Quest. Because we do not maintain personal accounts for the App, there is typically no separate server-side profile for us to erase.

5. Network Images (Theme Backgrounds)

During gameplay, the App may load decorative background images from public URLs (for example Unsplash image URLs embedded in the App). When your device requests an image:

  • Your IP address and standard HTTP metadata may be processed by that third-party host under their privacy policy.
  • We do not receive the content of those requests on our own infrastructure.

You should review Unsplash's policy if you want details: Unsplash Privacy.

6. Google Fonts

The App bundles font files (for example Nunito and Fredoka) and may allow runtime fetching of fonts via the google_fonts package when your device has network connectivity. That can cause HTTPS requests to Google's font infrastructure. Google may process technical data (such as IP address) as described in Google's Privacy Policy. We do not intend to use fonts for advertising profiling.

7. Connectivity Detection

The App may check network connectivity (for example to decide whether runtime font fetching is allowed). This uses platform APIs (such as the connectivity_plus plugin) and does not send your browsing history to us.

8. Text-to-Speech and Audio

Text-to-Speech (TTS) uses your operating system's speech engine (flutter_tts). Whether audio is synthesized fully on-device or with assistance from the OS vendor may depend on your device and settings; we do not operate our own TTS cloud for the App.

Sound effects and music are played from local assets via audioplayers where configured as such; they are not uploaded to our servers as part of normal gameplay.

9. URL Launcher (External Browser / Store)

When you open links (for example Privacy Policy, Terms, update/download URLs, or support links), the App uses url_launcher to hand off to your default browser or the relevant app store. Those services collect information under their own policies.

10. Advertising and Real Purchases (Current vs Future)

  • Advertising SDKs (for example AdMob) are not integrated in the App's dependencies at the time of this writing. The user interface may reference future rewarded ads or similar features; if we add advertising, we will update this Policy before enabling it and, where required, provide consent or choices.
  • Real-money in-app purchases: The in-game shop may display prices for illustration. In the current codebase, purchases are simulated locally and do not process payment through Google Play Billing or other stores. If we enable real billing, purchases will be processed by the platform payment provider; we will update this Policy and the Data Safety / store disclosures accordingly.

11. International Users

If you use the App outside Vietnam, your information may be processed in countries where Google (Firebase) and other service providers operate data centers, as described in their policies.

12. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing of personal data, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because much of what we rely on is processed by Google under Firebase, you may also use Google/Firebase tools and device settings (such as resetting advertising IDs where applicable) as described in Google's documentation.

To exercise rights against us directly, contact us using Section 14. We may need to verify your request where permitted by law.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, our practices, or legal requirements. We will update the "Last Updated" date when we make changes. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised policy where permitted by law.

The latest version will be available at the URL you configure in the App (see AppConstants.privacyUrl) and in your store listing.
